» Why does it cost more to transport my car in the spring and summer.
This is considered moving season. There is a much greater demand for trucks. Expect to pay a premium of 10 to 25 %. If you want TO SAVE MONEY, consider moving your car in the winter months.

HINT: Make reservations early and you will be able to negotiate a better price.
» What happens if my car is damaged?
All of our carriers carry liability and cargo insurance,however,each carrier has their own policy for handling a claim. Sometimes your car insurance is primary and the trucks is secondary. Some will be responsible for any damage while others may have a small deductible that you would be responsible for.

Make sure you ask your carrier who is responsible in the event of damage. Again, always read your contract and whenever possible get it in writing.

The only way to be Sure of what the carriers policy is for handling claims is to place the order direct. This way you sign the carriers contract, not some brokers. We also recommend that you do not cancel your own auto policy until after your car has been delivered. This way in the event the carrier refuses a damage claim, your insurance company can subrogate on your behalf.
» What is a broker?
A broker is a middleman who charges you a fee (usually in the form of a NON REFUNDABLE deposit to find a truck that will move your car.
» Why should I stay away form brokers?
The playing field has changed! Because of the stiff competition on the Internet, brokers are underbidding jobs making it almost impossible to find a reputable carrier who will move your car. Your car will end up on some dispatch list with no carrier willing to take it. And guess who ends up paying? That’s right, you! Your car doesn’t move; you pay rental car fees, toll calls all at your expense. And best of all, when you call to cancel, the broker tells you that your deposit is non-refundable!
» Is the Broker also the carrier?
NO!!

Brokers will try to represent themselves as if they are the carrier. They tell you the car is fully insured on the truck when in fact the broker has NO cargo insurance at all.

Brokers will tell you almost anything you want to hear to get your money.They promise you pick up dates and expedited service when they can’t really promise anything . Again, the only way to really be sure is to book the move directly with the company that is doing the job.

» How do I prepare my car for transport?
You should always have the car clean before pick up.
When the carrier arrives to pick up your car he will have a contract called a bill of lading . This will also contain a condition report. Generally, all of his personal/ licensing information is on this form.

The two of you will examine your car thoroughly inside and out and mark down any damage such as dents, dings, scratches in the paint, the condition of the interior etc. You will always get a copy of this report.

IMPORTANT: If you are not going to be on the delivery end when your car arrives we suggest you make a copy and overnight this document to whoever will be receiving the car for you so that they can compare the condition of the vehicle at pick up vs delivery.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ANY DAMAGE BE LISTED ON DELIVERY if you want the carrier to consider your claim. ONCE YOU SIGN OFF THAT YOUR CAR HAS BEEN RECEIVED IN GOOD CONDITION YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO MAKE A
CLAIM FOR DAMAGE. If there is no one available to receive
the car on delivery your car will be taken to a terminal location.

Any Storage fees will be your responsibility. Make sure you know when your car will arrive.

We suggest you do not ship any personal goods in the car.
Carriers will not be responsible for any personal goods left in your car.

If you want to put a few items in the car ask the carrier if it is ok and confine it to the trunk area of your car. Keep in mind that these items are not insured. Make sure you weatherize your car when shipping in the winter due to cold climates. It is not necessary to have more then a ? tank of gas. Lightweight items ,if allowable, should not exceed 50 lbs. in the trunk. It is against DOT regulations to place any items in vehicle.
» How far in advance should I schedule my car for pick up?
Please give the carrier as much advance notice as possible. However with iMoveCar you have access to several carriers. One of them should be able to accommodate your time frame.
They will usually want a 2 to 3 day window for pick up. Also note that on door to door service you may still need to meet the truck in a large parking lot or shopping center near your home.

These trucks are 75 ft in length and very hard to maneuver and depending on your location , the truck may not be able to get right to your door.
» How long will it take to deliver my car?
Coast to coast is approximately 7 to 14 business days. This is typical delivery time ,however, several factors can alter this time frame, i.e. weather conditions, mechanical function, supply and demand for trucks. During the busy moving season you may sometimes have to wait longer.
» What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?
Enclosed transport is the preferred way to move a car but because of the cost factor this method is recommended for high value vehicles or when a specific delivery date is crucial.

However, if you have the time to go on a standby basis, oftentimes you can get great discounts on enclosed transport and, remember, with iMove Car you don’t pay the broker fee!
» How much will it cost to ship my car?
Again, this will depend on several factors but because
you’re going direct to the carrier you can expect to save 100.00 to 500.00 dollars off broker rates.

Also consider the time of year and how large the vehicle is. Expect to pay a premium during the months of May-Sept. and a premium of $ 100.00 or more for oversized vehicles.

You can often save money by dropping off or picking up your vehicle at a terminal location if one is available in your area.

Example: A standard car from coast to coast LA TO NJ during the winter months should be somewhere between $ 600.00 and $ 850.00 and about $550 to $700 to the mid west and Texas; from $850.00 to $950.00 from Seattle to the east coast and vise versa.

This is based on heavy traffic areas. You may pay more in slower traffic areas.

The price of shipping you car is negotiated by you and the carrier. The price may vary between each carrier based on their availablity and the season.

NOTE: Sometimes you can get a great deal if the truck is
short a car and needs to fill his truck fast. If you are short on cash and can be flexible, this is a great way to go. However, you will have to be ready at the spur of the moment ( and this will usually only happen in the winter months.) For enclosed transport expect to pay about $1,200.00 to $1,400.00 dollars on first space available basis.

TERMS OF SERVICE


1. Acceptance of Terms. Welcome to www.iMoveCar.com. We provide our services to you, subject to the following Terms of Service (“TOS”), which may be updated by us from time to time without notice to you. You can review the most current version of the TOS at any time at: . When using www.iMoveCar.com you agree to be bound at all times by the TOS and any other guidelines or rules applicable to such services which may be posted from time to time.

Description of Services. iMoveCar.com, Inc., a California corporation, offers internet related services to obtain quotes for the transport of automobiles directly from carriers (the “Service”) at the site known as www.iMoveCar.com. The purpose of our site is to help place consumers directly with auto transport carriers without brokers or middlemen. BY USING WWW.iMoveCar.com’S SERVICES AND SYSTEM, EACH USER AND CARRIER AGREES TO COMPLY WITH AND BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THE TOS.

5. Standards of Conduct - Carriers. Each carrier represents and warrants that such carrier will only use leads developed through www.iMoveCar.com for its direct use and will not broker or otherwise transfer such leads to any person or entity without the prior written consent of iMoveCar.com, Inc. Each carrier will further transport vehicles developed from leads from
6. www.iMoveCar.com on trucks or equipment owned or leased by such carrier. In the event that a carrier should broker or otherwise transfer a lead developed through www.iMoveCar.com without the prior written consent of iMoveCar.com, Inc., such carrier shall indemnify and hold iMoveCar.com, Inc. harmless from any and all damages and liability therefrom including attorneys’ fee and costs. Each carrier shall: (1) maintain adequate insurance coverage and licensing at all times; (2) pick and drop off vehicles within the contracted period of time; (3) handle and transport each vehicle in a professional manner and to take all reasonable steps to prevent damage to the vehicle; (4) provide the customers with completed and signed Bill of Lading/Vehicle Condition Form upon delivery; (5) handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner; (6) resolve loss and damage claims fairly and responsively; and (7) notify customers of unexpected delays. All information submitted by the carriers to iMoveCar.com, Inc. is true and correct in all material respects.

8. Payment Terms. iMoveCar.com, Inc. may suspend or terminate any free trial offer at any time. Subscriber’s must pay fees per iMoveCar.com, Inc.’s rate schedule from time to time in effect as a condition to obtaining access to www.iMoveCar.com’s website. If applicable, a subscriber must also pay any sales, use or like taxes in connection with the subscriber’s subscription. Any rate changes will become effective when published on www.iMoveCar.com. Payments not made within thirty (30) days of the billing date are considered delinquent. iMoveCar.com, Inc. may immediately suspend and/or terminate a delinquent subscriber’s access to www.iMoveCar.com without notice. Any fees for a partial month will be prorated based upon a thirty (30) day month. Delinquent amounts will bear interest at the rate of 10% per annum but not to exceed the maximum rate permitted under applicable law.
9. Termination or Suspension. Either subscriber or iMoveCar.com, Inc. may, at its sole discretion, terminate subscriber’s account at any time, with or without cause. www.iMoveCar.com, Inc. may immediately terminate the use of www.iMoveCar.com by any subscriber who fails to fully abide by the TOS and by all industry professional standards for providing service. iMoveCar.com, Inc. may, at its sole and absolute discretion, suspend a subscriber’s account at any time and for any reason. iMoveCar.com, Inc. may also, in its sole discretion and at any time, discontinue providing the Service, or any part thereof, with or without notice. Subscribers agree that any termination of access to the Service under any provision of this TOS may be effected without prior notice and acknowledge and agree that iMoveCar.com, Inc. may immediately deactivate or delete the subscriber’s account and all related information and files in the subscriber’s account and/or bar any further access to such files or the Service. Subscribers agree that iMoveCar.com, Inc. shall not be liable to subscriber or any third party for any termination of access to the Service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties. Users expressly understand and agree that:

(a) User’s use of the Service is at User’s sole risk. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. iMoveCar.com, Inc. expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

(a) iMoveCar.com, Inc. makes no warranty that (i) the Service will meet User’s requirements, (ii) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, (iii) the results that may be obtained from the use of the Service will be accurate or reliable, (iv) the quality of any products, services, information or other material purchased or obtained by User through the Service will meet User’s expectations, and (v) any errors in the software will be corrected.

(a) Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Service is done at User’s own discretion and risk and that User will be solely responsible for any damage to User’s computer system of loss of data that results from the download of any such material.

(a) No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by User from iMoveCar.com, Inc. or through or from the Service shall create any warranty not expressly stated in the TOS.

1. Limitation of Liability. User expressly understands and agrees that iMoveCar.com, Inc. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if iMoveCar.com, Inc. has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use or inability to use the Service; (ii) the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services resulting from any goods, data, information or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into through or from the Service; (iii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iv) statements or conduct of any third party on the Service; or (v) any other matter relating to the Service.

3. Exclusions and Limitations. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the above limitations of Sections 6 and 7 may not apply to User.

The subscriber agrees to indemnify and hold iMoveCar.com, Inc. and its officers, directors, shareholders, agents, employees and its other subscribers harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages or expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of or resulting from any services performed by or on behalf of the subscriber including services to customers for whom subscriber obtained a lead through www.iMoveCar.com and any and all use of the subscriber’s account, whether or not authorized. The subscriber further agrees to indemnify and hold iMoveCar.com, Inc. and its officers, directors, shareholders, agents and employees harmless from any and all representations and claims made by the subscriber to customers or potential customers of subscriber relating to the services of the subscriber.

7. No Representation or Warranty to Users. The users acknowledge and agree that iMoveCar.com, Inc. has made and shall make no representation or warranty with respect to the carriers. Each user shall undertake such investigation as the user deems appropriate of the carrier. The user acknowledges and agrees that iMoveCar.com, Inc. has advised the user and the user will undertake such investigation of the carriers as the user deems appropriate. Each user hereby releases and fully discharges iMoveCar.com, Inc. from any and all representations, warranties and all contractual obligations of the carrier to the user and the user will solely look to the carrier for the performance of the services. Each user agrees to release and discharge iMoveCar.com, Inc. for any loss or damage associated with the transport of a vehicle by a carrier.

9. Non-Transferability. Subscriber’s account and right to use www.iMoveCar.com’s services are not transferable without the prior written consent of iMoveCar.com, Inc.

11. Confidentiality. iMoveCar.com, Inc. treats electronic messages as private. Exceptions are permitted by law, including under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 (“ECPA”). The ECPA permits iMoveCar.com, Inc. limited ability to intercept and/or disclose electronic messages, including, for example (i) as necessary to operate the system or protect iMoveCar.com, Inc.’s rights or property, (ii) upon legal demand (court orders, warrants, subpoenas) or (iii) where iMoveCar.com, Inc. receives information inadvertently which appears to pertain to the commission of a crime. Users should be aware that electronic messages may be intercepted lawfully or unlawfully outside of iMoveCar.com, Inc.’s system. In addition, although iMoveCar.com, Inc. has implemented certain security measures, iMoveCar.com, Inc. cannot guaranty that its system or stored data of a subscriber will be free from unauthorized intrusion or otherwise guaranty the privacy of information of any user.

13. Interpretation. These TOS supersede all other written and oral communications or agreements with regard to the subject matter. A waiver or modification of these TOS shall only be effective if in a writing signed by an authorized officer of www.iMoveCar.com. TOS shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California without regard to choice or conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under or relating to the Agreement shall be brought in by the federal or state courts of the State of California and the parties hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein. 1. You must have proper insurance coverage and licensing according to the laws set forth by the department of transportation. This must be kept in force at all times.

2. Treat each customer with courtesy and respect.

3. Be honest. Tell the customer if you will be able to accommodate their time frame.

4. Give customers regular updates.

5. Move each car within the agreed upon time frame. And, contact the customer immediately if there will be any
type of delay and explain why.

6. Be fair and expedient in handling damage claims.

7. Give customers fair lead time for pick- ups and deliveries.

8. If the customer thinks your price is too high, try to negotiate. Don’t just hang up! Explain your costs and what’s involved i.e.: Fuel costs, insurance, etc.
